Rumor has it that Hulu is planning to charge for content to make a profit. The new idea that is being tossed around is that Hulu may be planning on an ‘Access Plan’ that would allow subscribers to watch older shows.

The access plan is rumored to cost about $5 and may be implemented within 6 months. If you currently watch shows, you may have noticed that you only have access to the latest 4 episodes for certain shows. So, if you wanted to watch the first episode of a season, you will have to have Hulu’s Access Plan.

This is a different strategy than what what many had speculated on Hulu’s charging scheme. It was previously thought that Hulu will charge for certain ‘premium’ shows. This strategy seems better because it will make people want to catch up on previous episodes instead of being forced to pay for certain shows.
